The application deadline for the 2026 Theaterpreis des Bundes was November 15, 2025. We would like to thank everyone for their numerous submissions.

The festive award ceremony provides the award-winning theaters with a public stage and highlights their creative power and commitment to theater as a contemporary space for reflection and experience. It is a celebration of diversity and an expression of Germany’s vibrant theater scene. The event is further enriched by the presentation of the Tabori Prize by the Fonds Darstellende Künste.
